"On the occasion of Earth Day 2026, Artwork for the Earth: A Planet for the People was organized at Shyamoli Park Ground in Dhaka by Waterkeepers Bangladesh in collaboration with OAB Foundation and other partner organizations. The event brought together people from diverse backgrounds to promote environmental awareness, climate action, and community engagement through art, culture, and collective participation."
The event featured “Artwork for the Earth”, an interactive art segment where participants expressed their concerns and hopes for the planet through paintings, drawings, posters, and creative visual messages. The artworks focused on environmental conservation, river protection, pollution prevention, biodiversity preservation, and solutions to the growing climate crisis.
Another important segment, “Open Expression,” provided a platform for participants to share songs, poetry, stories, and personal reflections about nature and environmental responsibility. Through cultural expression, attendees highlighted the importance of protecting ecosystems and ensuring a sustainable future for coming generations.
The program also included an awareness rally titled “Walk for the Earth.” Participants marched around Shyamoli Park carrying eco-friendly placards, banners, and climate action messages. The rally aimed to inspire public awareness and encourage citizens to take meaningful action for environmental protection and climate justice.
Throughout the event, organizers emphasized that protecting the Earth is a shared responsibility. Participants called for stronger environmental stewardship, sustainable lifestyles, and greater youth engagement in addressing climate challenges at local and national levels.
